More than 100 New Orleans musicians and vocalists came together over nine months to create a “mega” music video that would reach into the hearts of every New Orleanian, blast off this new arrangement of an old spiritual—and lift up an entire city by its heartstrings. It's the launch of a movement to heal, uplift and unify our people to stride into the future with spirits soaring.

Project Scope: Vision, Aim, & Objectives

Why this project is being done:
To heal, uplift and unify New Orleans, drawing the people together from all segments of the community with an inspiring vision of a more unified future, and providing specific programs through which this vision can be realized.
Who or what this project would impact:
All the people of New Orleans and the surrounding areas.
Project intends to address:
Post-flood emotional trauma; historic social separations and divisiveness; world misperceptions of our condition and our resolve.

Plan for implementing this project:
We first want everyone in the city (eventually around the world) to see and be inspired by this music video. Under its "flag," we plan to operate specific programs designed to erode social separations, foster greater compassion between all segments.

Help or Additional Resources Needed

Help needed from other people:
We will provide a DVD to any group that will organize a screening or screenings of the We Shall Not Be Moved music video for their constituents (12 minutes total running time with credits). We ask for each group to arrange for volunteers to staff the sale of T-shirts & CD's at these screenings.
