The Unseen Showcase is meant to give New Orleans' artists a place to display their talent while allowing them to discuss the pitfalls & successes of the rebuilding process. They will present topics as groundwork for critical dialouge with their community in search of practical solutions. The showcase will be recorded and shown via the public access channel and UndergroundUnseen.com

Project Scope: Vision, Aim, & Objectives

Why this project is being done:
We hope to assist the rebuilding process locally by discussing key issues, and presenting plausible solutions for the collective and the indivual. We also would like to use our international site as a vehicle for New Orleans' iniatives.
Who or what this project would impact:
It will impact the local community by addressing concerns and broadcasting them to a broader community through artistic means in order to achieve practical solutions by utilizing community organizations & the initiative of the indiviual.
Project intends to address:
This project intends to address all aspects of New Orleans that have been changed through the catalyst of Hurricane Katrina: housing, crime, employment, community, solidarity, pitfalls of international media, community organizations, and much more.
Included or excluded:
An open invitation to the concerned citizenry of New Orleans and to any artists and organizations that would like to be involved!

Project Timeline

The Unseen showcase will be held the weekend of September 4, 2009. Artists targeted to perform by July 17, 2009. Advertising is to begin no later than August 1st.

Outside organizations are still being contacted for their participatios.
Plan for implementing this project:
To attack community organizations, concerned citizens, an arists that are seeking a personal role in social justice through the arts and interaction with the community through creative advertising.

Materials needed (wish list):
Someone to do a live recording of the performance. A radio show to broadcast the event to the public.

While we have organizations and artists available to present - Other organizations and artists that would love to be acive and involved in the dialoug and at the forefront of presenting are always invited!
