The Storypod is a design build project which is a place to tell stories and find the stories of other locals. This project, part of the Tulane City Center's University Community Design Partnerships, will facilitate and encourage the ongoing work of the Neighborhood Story Project. The permanent installation, referred to as the Storypod, is a library with display, interview, and storage space.

Project Scope: Vision, Aim, & Objectives

Why this project is being done:
to challenge young designers to develop a social conscious, learn how to build. also the Storypod would be a sculptural gesture which serves as an example of sustainable material use and supports a non-profit engaged in sustaining the culture of N.O.
Who or what this project would impact:
who: the 7th ward neighborhood and John McDonogh High School but to a larger extent the project is for the entire N.O. community. The Storypod is part of a cultural rebuilding wherein neighborhoods and and individuals tell their own histories.

Project Timeline

The Storypod/library design will begin in September 2009 with several meetings with the community and our non-profit partner. The construction will take place in the fall with a final installation taking place in the month of October
