The New Orleans Airlift supports and sustains New Orleans art and culture by facilitating artistic opportunities for the city’s artists domestically and abroad.
The Airlift also extends an invitation to host selected foreign artists in New Orleans. Imported artist's collaborations with locals helps to put New Orleans on the map as a dynamic contemporary arts destination.
Project Scope: Vision, Aim, & Objectives
Why this project is being done:
The world should know about the unique art and culture of New Orleans. The goal of the New Orleans Airlift is to provide opportunities for local artists to sustain and develop their artistic practice both within the city and in the wider world.
Who or what this project would impact:
The New Orleans Airlift impacts local artist's professional development. The Airlift also works to develop New Orleans reputation as an international arts destination.
Project intends to address:
Lack of population and resources are still common to life after unparalleled destruction of Hurricane Katrina.
In order to sustain their lives, their work and their culture in their home city, local artists need new audiences and opportunities.
