“Sculpture for New Orleans” is a two-year sculpture exhibition placing monumental sculptures throughout New Orleans, from the well-traveled areas of downtown New Orleans, Uptown and the Garden District to City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Project Scope: Vision, Aim, & Objectives

Why this project is being done:
I grew up in New Orleans. I was asked by the past Jazz and Heritage Foundation Board president David Oestreicher in November 2006 to come up with a project to aid New Orleans artists.
Who or what this project would impact:
Local artists and art groups will benefit from international exposure working with artist on a national and international level. Sculptures will bring tourist to areas such as Audubon Park the Central Business District and other locations.
Project intends to address:
Millions of dollars were being contributed to the musicians. The visual artists were left with very little. Studios flooded, artwork lost or stolen. Bronze sculpture sold for scrap. This project is intended to make something positive happen in NOLA.
Included or excluded:
On any given day in some part of the City citizens will be able to see 3 or 4 monumental sculptures by local, national and international artists.

Plan for implementing this project:
Working with as many artists and organizations in New Orleans as possible. Xavier,Tulane,UNO, Museums, art groups, the City of New Orleans, Audubon Institute, Levee District, Downtown Development District,City Park, NOMA and such.
