Louisiana State Archives, Baton Rouge
Opening: Sat., Aug. 9th - Sept. 2008
Art disciplines include photography, film, video, painting, illustration, clay art, tapestry, glass, jewelry, literature, poetry, theater, and music. Some of the most respected artists and curators in southern Louisiana will develop their disciplines, bringing together some of the most promising artists of our generation.
Project Scope: Vision, Aim, & Objectives
Why this project is being done:
The "40 Days and 40 Nights" exhibit will develop an archived collection of material that voices the experiences of our post-Katrina communities.
Who or what this project would impact:
Opening night, which is open to the public, will feature theatre, music, and literary readings by participating artists.
Project Timeline
Exhibition opens August 9, 2008 and will be at the State Archive through September 2008. The exhibition will travel nationally to the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.
